Iran's national volleyball team has bagged its first win in the 2014 World League, defeating Brazil in straight sets in Sao Paulo.
The Iranian squad overpowered the nine-time World League champions 25-18, 25-21 and 25-22 at Gymnasium Ibirapuera on Saturday.
The match was Iran's second away encounter with Brazil in the third week of the FIVB World League.
Iran's Shahram Mahmoudi was the top scorer of the match with 18 points.
The stunning victory came after the Iranians lost a five-set match to Brazil in on Friday.
Last week, Iran suffered two straight 3-0 setbacks at the hands of Italy in the city of Verona.
The FIVB Volleyball World League began on May 23 and will end with the Finals taking place on July 20.
Iran has been drawn in Pool A that sees world's best volleyball teams Italy, Brazil and Poland.
Italy leads the pool with 15 points, followed by Brazil and Iran with five and four pints respectively. Poland have three points.
The Iranian team will face Brazil again in Tehran on June 13 and 15.
