Reza Zarrab, an Iranian businessman, is the prime suspect in the financial corruption case in Turkey involving several senior government officials.

The newspaper Today's Zaman reports that Zarrab and two sons of ministers in the government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan were released today by order of the Supreme Court of Turkey, following their arrest on financial corruption charges in December 2013.

The Turkish court has decided that there is no risk of flight or the destruction of evidence by these suspects.

Zarrab is not permitted to leave Turkey and has to report to the police every Friday pending their trial.

The Turkish government has carried out widespread dismissals in the judiciary and police force in recent weeks in relation to the government corruption charges that have plagued the Erdoğan administration in recent months.
