In the match held at the Phu Tho Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Alireza Vafaei (1'), Ali Asghar Hassanzadeh (5'), Ahmad Esmaeilpour (7'), Hossein Tayyebi (5', 24', 28'), Mohammad Shajari (30'), and Vahid Shafiei (10', 23', 31') scored for Iran.

Elsewhere, Japan defeated Kuwait 6-1 and qualified for the final match.

Iran will play Japan on Saturday in the final and Uzbekistan face Kuwait in the bronze medal match.

"We could score early goals in this game and it made us very relaxed during the game," said Iran coach Jesus Candelas in the post match news conference.

"What is important is Japan is defending champion and they are mentally prepared to defend the title," the Spaniard added.

The AFC Futsal Championship is the main national futsal competition of the Asian Football Confederation nations. It was first held in 1999 and has been played annually. Iran has been dominant, winning 10 out of the 12 editions of the competition played so far, and finishing 3rd in two others.
