The second international exhibition of rail transportation, related industries and equipment (Iran Rail Expo 2014) on Monday at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds. Tens of companies from Iran, Germany, Turkey, China, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong, Italy, Spain, and Austria are showcasing their latest achievements in the exhibit.
The exhibition, the largest of its kind in the Middle East, will run until May 22.
Iran is a manufacturer of rail products. The country has exported 500 freight cars to Cuba, 1000 freight cars to Syria, 70 passenger cars to Bangladesh, and 200 freight cars to Sudan in recent years.
Iran is also planning to export railway cars to Iraq, Bangladesh, and some African countries.
