Iranian super heavyweight Behdad Salimi claimed a silver medal in the 2014 IWF World Championships on Sunday. After a thrilling contest in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Salimi seized a silver medal in the +105 kg weight category.
Salimi, who had won a gold medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, snatched 206kg and lifted 251kg in the clean and jerk and took the silver with a combined total lift of 457kg.
London bronze medalist Ruslan Albegov won the gold medal with a total of 462kg. He lifted 210kg in the snatch and 252kg in the clean and jerk.
Mohamed Ehsan Attia Massoud from Egypt claimed the bronze medal with a total of 436kg. He lifted 193kg in the snatch and lifted 243 in the clean and jerk.
Iran's Kianoush Rostami won a gold medal in the Men's 85kg at the competitions on Thursday.
Rostami snatched 178kg and lifted 213kg in the clean and jerk and took the gold with a combined total lift of 391kg.
