IAAB is extremely excited to announce the launch of a three-week full-immersion summer course in Iran, under its groundbreaking new initiative, the YAR Institute: Youth Advancing Research. IAAB's YAR Institute is designed to create the next generation of leaders informed and engaged on Iran. The Institute will bring together students and young professionals from interdisciplinary backgrounds, providing Fellows with a deep scholarly understanding of Iran that encompasses firsthand knowledge of the professional and cultural landscape of Iran.

YAR Fellows will be selected through a competitive application process for a yearlong fellowship. Prior to the trip to Iran, Fellows will participate in virtual classes taught by leading Iran scholars. During the summer of 2015, IAAB's YAR Fellows will travel to Iran under the supervision of IAAB staff in order to engage with leading Iranian academics, artists, and cultural activists from all spheres of Iranian society and gain a better understanding of the country's multi-faceted layers. Throughout the fellowship, YAR Fellows will each work on a media project aimed at complicating the narrative on Iran in the United States. Upon their return, fellows will receive one-on-one mentoring on how to develop and launch media projects and write op-ed articles.

Advanced university students and recent graduates of Iranian heritage are eligible to apply.
