Iran's male athlete Saeed Hassanipour and his compatriot Hamideh Abbasali won two gold medals in Karata competitions in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon on Thursday.
In the +68kg category, Hamideh Abbasali defeated her rival from China, and seized a gold medal for the Iranian caravan.
Earlier in the competitions, she had overpowered her opponents from Makau (5-0) and Indonesia (7-3).
Saeed Hassanipour stood atop the men competitions' -75kg category after defeating his Hongkongese fighter 2-0.
The Iranian fighter had knocked out his Uzbek (4-2) and Vietnamese (10-2) opponents on his way to the final.
The Iranian caravan has so far won 18 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals at the 17th Asian Games 2014, and currently stands in the fifth place of Asian games table.
China leads the standings with 140 golds and 316 medals altogether. South Korea is second with 70 golds among its 208 medals and Japan ranks third with 44 golds and 179 medals altogether.
The 17th Asian Games in Incheon are underway in South Korea from September 19 to October 1, 2014. Iran's caravan consists of 282 athletes of which 224 are men and 58 are women.
