Iran's jobless rate reached 9.5 percent in summer, the Statistical Center of Iran reported. The center put the number of unemployed people at 2.257 million, according to the Mehr News Agency.

Over 47 percent of Iranian people are working in the service sector. The industrial and the agricultural sectors rank next, with 33 percent and 19 percent, respectively.
Iranian Labor, Cooperatives, and Social Welfare Minister Ali Rabiei says there are 3.5 million jobless people in the country.
He said one million jobs should be created per year to resolve the unemployment crisis in Iran, the Mehr News Agency reported on September 30.
On August 16, Rabiei said 500,000 jobs will be created in the country by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2015).
At least 90 trillion rials (about $2.8 billion) will be invested in job creation plans in the current Iranian year, he added.
Meanwhile, the Statistical Center of Iran has announced that there are 2.5 million jobless people in the country.
The average unemployment rate for the past Iranian calendar year hit 10.4 percent.
