According to ISNA, when asked about the movements of ISIS, Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said on the sidelines of a government and security meeting that ISIS appears to have extensive plans but he stressed that the threat to Iran is not significant.

He said Iran has arrested a number of Afghan and Pakistani citizens who were on their way to Iraq to join ISIS forces. "We blocked their passage and they are now in custody," the Interior Minister reported.

He added that there have been no instances of ISIS recruitment in Iran, maintaining: "We are in complete control of our borders."

The Interior Minister also added that ISIS is in constant retreat in Iraq.

The Sunni extremist group ISIS has taken control of several parts of Iraq and its Kurdistan region in recent months. U.S. air support has helped Iraqi state forces and Kurds take back some of these areas.
