The International Symposium of Contemporary Sculpture (Padideh) announced winners in Mashhad on Sunday evening. Thirty-two sculptors from Iran, China, South Korea, Germany and Serbia created works at the symposium, which opened in the northeastern Iranian city on September 15.
Sahand Hesamian won the first prize for his work "Infinite". The second prize went to "Suitcase" created by Reza Bastami and Negar Naderi won the third prize for her work "Shishlik". All the winners were from Iran.
Raphael Beil from Germany along with Iranian sculptors Mohammad Noabadi and Hamed Rashtian received honorable mentions at the event.
A jury composed of Steinunn Thorarinsdottir from Iceland, Nadim Karam from Lebanon and Australia-based Iranian sculptor Hossein Valamanesh selected the winners.
The event was held by the Padideh Shandiz International Tourism Development Company.
