The largest German university scientific delegation is visiting Iran to discuss mutual cooperation with Iranian universities, said Iranian Deputy Minister of Science for International Affairs Hossein Amoli.
During the meeting, Caretaker of Iran's Ministry of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad-Ali Najafi and President of the German Academic Exchange Service, Prof. Dr. Margret Wintermantel, who is in Tehran as the head of a delegation, called for extensive cooperation between Iranian and German universities.
According to Amoli, the delegation arrived in Iran on Sunday and it includes university presidents of Aachen, Giessen, Rhine-Waal, Darmstadt, Rostock universities and German University in Istanbul.
A number of German university professors and students are accompanying the delegation, he said.
Amoli also noted that the visit aims at expanding cooperation between universities of the two countries.
The two sides would discuss exchange of university professors and students, carrying out mutual research projects, running shared analytical courses and establishing Iran-German joint university.
This is the largest university delegation visiting Iran after the Islamic Republic of Iran.
