"We are proud that the U.S. was disappointed" that Iran was not part of an "erroneous" and "collective" coalition against ISIL, the Leader told reporters after being discharged from hospital.
He stated that the U.S. officials' claims of campaign against ISIL are "empty" and "biased".
In the Jeddah meeting on Thursday Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, the UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon agreed to join the U.S. and some other NATO members in fight against ISIL in Iraq and Syria.
Iran was not invited to be part of the coalition.
The Leader went on to say that at the outset of ISIL's attack on Iraq, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq asked the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad for a meeting between Iran and the U.S. to cooperate with each other to fight ISIL, however the ambassador opposed such a meeting, although some Iranian officials were not against it.
"I said that we do not cooperate with the U.S. in this regard, because they have 'dirty intention and hand'."
He added U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had also personally requested Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to cooperate with the U.S. in fight against ISIL which was declined by Zarif.
The Leader added that even the U.S. Under Secretary of State Wendy Sharman made the same request from Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, but he rejected it as well.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader said that the U.S. has formed a coalition to fight against Syria, "but they could not do a damn thing".
They cannot do anything in Iraq either, Ayatollah Khamenei added.
He also said the U.S. is not serious in fight against ISIL.
The Leader added it was the Iraqi people that broke the backbone of ISIL and not the United States.
On September 8, the Leader was hospitalized at one of Tehran's state-run hospitals and underwent prostate surgery.
Many Iranian dignitaries and foreign religious scholars visited the Leader during the time he was in the hospital.
