Ardebil, Sept 24, IRNA - Police Chief Brigadier General Esmail Ahmadi Moqaddam said on Tuesday that in the age of information making proper use of communications technologies is unavoidable and a must for progress.
"Using different technologies for communications such as Facebook, Viber and WhatsApp in the present world is inevitable, but it is important to take necessary measures and supervisions by responsible bodies to help proper use of cyber space," Ahmadi Moqaddam told reporters.
Speaking upon his arrival in this northwestern provincial city, he urged the Supreme Council of Cyberspace (SCC) to speed up formulating policies for users of social networks.
The SCC is tasked with devising Iran's Internet policies.
Ahmadi Moqaddam made the remarks while commenting on a recent report that said Iranians should stop using social networks including Facebook, WhatsApp and Viber within 30 days.
