New York, Sept 24, IRNA - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said here Tuesday in a meeting with his French counterpart that West should comprehend Iran's regional influence; major message of Iran-Sextet nuclear talks is that major world issues can be resolved through holding talks.
"Iran's negotiations with the 5+1 Group nowadays are of great significance and we hope while preserving the Iranian nation's rights and concerns, the nuclear issue will be resolved in a balanced way, so as to achieve a win-win result for both sides," said President Rouhani in his talks with President Francoise Hollande.
The Head of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) emphasized that trust is the foundation stone for bilateral relations, reiterating that the West should comprehend Iran's regional influence.
The French president, too, said in the meeting that was held in the UN New York headquarters that the Iran-Sextet negotiations need to lead to a final comprehensive agreement as soon as possible.
"Such an agreement can raise the level of bilateral relations to a higher extent than the past," added President Hollande.
Reiterating the need for bilateral cooperation in campaign against terrorism, Hollande said that Paris, like Tehran, has decided to help the Iraqi Government in its campaign against terrorism.
He said that Iran has a special status in the region in campaign against terrorism, expressing hope that after cracking a comprehensive nuclear agreement the two countries will start noticeable cooperation in other fields, as well.
The French president meanwhile expressed optimism for the expansion of industrial cooperation between the two countries.
