The 2014 IAAB Student Summit will be held October 17th-19th at the University of Maryland, College Park. The Fall Summit is open to undergraduate students and will focus on the needs of student leaders and interested members of the student body hoping to gain a stronger understanding of their identity and the necessary skills to further build their campuses and local communities.
The Summit is the only gathering of its kind in the United States, bringing together Iranian-American students and student leaders from across the country to simultaneously discuss the state of the community and develop tools as leaders capable of shaping and moving forward the community.
IAAB recognizes the enormous power young people have in shaping their commuities. In this light, IAAB began organizing the Summit as a space for students to engage in real conversations and to build tools as agents of change.
Through the Summit, student participants become a part of a national alliance of Iranian student organizations. The Summit creates an inclusive network, known as I-CAN, through which student leaders build a deeper sense of community and understanding of leadership as practice. Throughout the year, members continue to foster relationships, develop new forms of collaboration as student leaders, and organize joint local, regional and national programs.
