Presently 900 foreign plane have transit flights trough the Iranian air space, which is unprecedented in the history of the Iranian aviation, said the Managing Director of Iranian Airports Company Mohammad Ali Ilkhani.
"The increased transit flights through the Iranian air space are indebted to the efforts and interaction of the country's armed forces and their fruitful interactions with the private sector," he said, in an interview with IRNA.
He said that the process of cooperation among the country's armed forces, the private sector and the aviation industry has led to the improved status of the country's air space safety.
"The foreign flights receive good service from the Iranian aviation industry and feel the safety of the Iranian air space," added Ilkhani.
He said that the major concern of the Iranian Airports Company is improvement of the security of the country's airspace followed by developing the infrastructures of the Iranian aviation industry.
"Keeping in mind the increased transit flights through the Iranian airspace we have also begun negotiations with a manufacturer company of supervision, radar and switching systems and signed an agreement for provision of the required facilities so that they will provide a part of the required facilities during the course of the current year for us, which will lead to further improving the security of the Iranian airspace," he said.
