TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Wednesday that the Supreme Leader has set "the red lines the guidelines" for the Iranian nuclear negotiating team led by him. "If it was not for the support of the Leader and people there was not progress" in nuclear talks with the major powers, Zarif told reporters while taking part in rallies marking the 36th anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
The Leader said on Sunday that he supports a transparent, single-stage, and good nuclear deal between Iran and the major world powers.
Zarif said he also has the same view as the Leader's.
The Iranian foreign minister also stated that reaching a final nuclear agreement entails a "political will" by the other side.
On sanctions imposed against Iran for its nuclear program, he said the Iranian people will never bow to pressure and will always make progress.
He added the Iranian people have always stood beside the Leader and the system.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Zarif stated that Iran is among the countries that took measures against extremism first.
