TEHRAN - In its study of the next year's national budget bill (March 5015-March 2016), Majlis on Wednesday refused to pass a $22 million bill intended to fund projects to protect environment.
The fund reportedly sought to battle environmental issues, especially dust storms that have recently crippled the country's western parts, the Shargh newspaper reported on Thursday.
The bill would authorize the provision of 600 billion rials (about $22 million) to enable the Department of Environment to carry out projects in controlling pollution, reviving lagoons and rivers, boosting environment monitoring measures, and launching public educational courses on environment protection.
