TEHRAN- The First exclusive exhibition of Italian companies in Iran will open today at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds. The event, which is the first exclusive exhibition of a European country in Iran, will host over 50 Italian companies, the Mehr News Agency reported on Sunday.
Participants will showcase their latest products and achievements in the fields of interior design and architecture as well as civil engineering and architecture in the four-day exhibit.
The value of trade between Iran and Italy amounted to €179 million in October 2014, a 95 percent rise from €91.4 million in October 2013, according to the EU statistics agency Eurostat.
Iran exported €65 million worth of products to Italy in October 2014, showing 8 percent growth compared to €8.4 million in last October.
Iran's value of imports from Italy stood at €114 million in this October, with 37 percent rise from €83 million in October 2013.
Italy was the 19th leading importer of Iranian non-oil goods and the 7th leading exporter of goods to Iran in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2014, according to the Iran Customs Administration.
Iran exported $200.6 million of non-oil goods to Italy and imported $849.3 million of goods from the European country between March 2013 and March 2014.
