Rohani said in a statement posted on his website on January 10 that "we condemn all forms of terrorism, no matter whether in Lebanon or Palestine or in Paris and the United States."

He said terrorist attacks by radicals only "inflame" others and promote "Islamophobia."
Rohani appeared to be alluding to the January 7-9 attacks in Paris in which 17 victims died.
Rohani said the Prophet Muhammad was "always about justice, never about revenge" and called for "prudence and forgiveness."
His remarks come two days after security forces prevented Iranian journalists from rallying for the journalists killed in Paris.
Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the attack but said it was "unacceptable" for free speech to "humiliate monotheistic religions."
