Director of the Red Crescent Society's Rescue and Relief Agency said German tourists who were lost while hiking in the northern region of Iran have been found safe and sound. 17 German tourists along with 3 local tour guides had gone missing in mountains in the Rineh heights in Amol, Mazandaran Province, since 15:00 o'clock Monday, according to Mehr news agency.
Nasser Charkhsaz said that the tourists were found at 23:30 o'clock the same day.
Four rescue teams from the organization along with 3 specialist mountain relief teams had been dispatched to the area where the tourists disappeared.
The tourists' path was blocked by heavy snow in areas up the Rineh Industrial Park, a local official said.
