TEHRAN -- The 21st edition of the Exhibition of Press and News Agencies, Iran's most significant media showcase, is playing host to representatives of some foreign media.

Twenty-two representatives from several countries including Kuwait, Italy, Iraq, Turkey, Germany, Lebanon, Japan, France and China are attending the exhibit to introduce their national media, organizers have announced on the exhibition's website.
Representatives from Iraqi TV channel of Aletejah, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), and Italy's ANSA News Agency introduced their media and held talks with Iranian reporters on Saturday, the first day of the exhibit.
The meetings are scheduled to be held during the week-long exhibit at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosalla.

Over 1500 media including newspapers, magazines, news agencies and press organizations are participating this year.
President Hassan Rouhani is expected to attend the exhibit and visit different pavilions today.
Different companies and organizations active in the press arena such as distributing companies, public relations offices and paper industries are also taking part in the exhibit.
In addition, a new pavilion has been set up under the title "Museum of Iran's Press" where the Cultural Institute of the Mostazafan Foundation Museums are displaying very early manuscripts and documents on Iran's press activities.
Iran's press since the Qajar era including over 4,000 copies of newspapers and magazines has been put on display in this pavilion.
Other exhibited items include the ups and downs of press over the years, research carried out on media, and the first copies of Iran's media law.

In collaboration with the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, the organizers are scheduled to honor newspapers, news agencies and provincial papers observing correct Persian writing at the end of the exhibit on Friday.
