TEHRAN - German artist Philipp Geist's light installation entitled "Gate of Words" pours down colored words of love, peace and freedom on Tehran's Azadi Tower for three days from October 3 to 5. The shining words, in English, German and Persian, move with the live music on the walls of the tower, the German artist said during a press conference held at the tower last Wednesday.
Philipp Geist gave further information about his project at the conference attended by German Ambassador to Tehran Michael von Ungern-Sternberg and several cultural officials.
He called the lighting on the historical Azadi tower a sensitive project and said that he would try to make use of words reflecting peace and friendship in his work.

He said that the project would help deepen cultural exchange between Iran and Germany, and hoped to become familiar with the young Iranian artists during his project.
The German artist later explained that he will be using four large projectors to illuminate the tower, which itself reflects the shape of a gate.
Only the first day will the project be accompanied by music, he said, adding that the sound produced by the cars moving around the tower would not disturb the work; they actually can act as part of it.
He also added that large music boxes would be installed for those who would like to hear the music more clearly.
