The Mehr News Agency reports that on Monday, the MPs asked the Justice Minister in Parliament to publicize details of the evidence against Rezaian.

Rezaian's last trial session was held on Monday August 10 behind closed doors. He is charged with "spying through the collection of national decisions about domestic and international politics and collaboration with enemy states".

A final decision in Rezaian's case was expected in September but so far no verdict has been issued.

A spokesman for Parliament's national security and foreign policy commission said on Sunday October 4 that the Revolutionary Guards have submitted a report to the commission in which Rezaian is described as an agent in a seditious U.S. scheme.

Rezaian was arrested on July 22, 2014, along with his wife and two other companions. His wife and the two other detainees were released on bail, but Rezaian has remained in prison and was recently brought to trial behind closed doors.

The United States has denied all espionage charges against Rezaian.
