Saeed Razavi Faqih, an Iranian political prisoner currently in Rejaishahr prison, has been sentenced to another three and a half years in jail.
The Kaleme website reported on Sunday September 21 that the Revolutionary Court has sentenced Razavi Faqih to two years for "insulting the leader", one year for "propaganda against the regime" and another six moths for "insulting the Assembly of Experts".
Razavi Faqih's previous sentence of one year in prison was completed five months ago; however, he was kept behind bars while the new charges were processed.
Saeed Razavi Faqih was originally sentenced to one year in jail for giving a speech at a gathering in Hamada in 2009. He was tried on "security charges" and sentenced in absentia. He was jailed upon his return to Iran in 2013 and sent to Rejaishahr Prison to serve his sentence.
Last week, he began a hunger strike in prison to protest the authorities' refusal to provide him with adequate medical treatment.
