Azita Raji is an Iranian-born American investment banker, financial analyst and philanthropist. She was nominated by President Barack Obama in October 2014 to serve as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Kingdom of Sweden, and confirmed unanimously by the United States Senate in February 2016. Raji will serve as the first female United States ambassador to Sweden, as well as the first Iranian-American to be a United States ambassador.
