Iranian weightlifters have brilliantly finished their campaign at the 46th edition of the Senior Men's Asian Weightlifting Championships in Uzbekistan, ranking second in the continental sporting event.

On Saturday, Iran's Bahador Molaei participated in the over-105-kilogram weight category contests at Uzbekistan Sport Center in the Uzbek capital city of Tashkent.
He was successful on his first snatch attempt at 180 kilograms, but failed to lift 185 kilograms in the second. He sought to lift 189 kilograms overhead in his third attempt, but jut fell short.
Molaei topped the clean and jerk podium with 247 kilograms. Chinese Taipei's Chen Shih-chien finished second and won the silver with 241 kilograms.
Turkmen contestant Muhammad Tuychiev scooped up the bronze with a lift of 211 kilograms.
The Taiwanese athlete finished the competition tied on an aggregate of 432 kilograms, and claimed the gold medal.
Uzbekistan's Tuychiev and Iran's Molaei shared the third overall slot with 427 kilograms.
Chinese weightlifters stood at the top of the overall table with a total of 560.7 points. Iranians accumulated 500.8 points to finish as the vice-champion in the tournament.
Uzbek competitors notched 463.8 points to stand on the bronze podium.
The 46th edition of the Senior Men's Asian Weightlifting Championships opened in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on April 21 and finished on April 30, 2016.
The tournament, which served as a qualification event for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games, brought together a total of 161 weightlifters from 30 Asian countries, including China, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
