Iran's male national kickboxing team has won the World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) World Championship 2016 in Italy. On Saturday and the final day of the competitions in the southern Italian city of Andria, the Iranian eight-member delegation took the honors with a total of eight medals (7 golds and one bronze).

In the final fight of the minus 60-kilogram low kick style competitions,
Mohammad Javad Heidari overwhelmed a representative from Canada and struck the
Ali Farahzadeh scooped the second gold for the Islamic Republic of Iran in the minus 63.5-kilogram class.
Abouzar Lorestani also emerged victorious in his final bout and was awarded the gold medal in the minus 71-kilogram weight division.
Sajjad Ghorbani defeated a French competitor in the final contest of the 75-kilogram class and received the gold medal.
Ali Taklou won another gold medal for Iran in the minus 86-kilogram weight
class. Sina Karimian and Ja'far Ahmadi received gold medals in the minus
91-kilogram and over 90-kilogram contests respectively.
Additionally, Javad Shahbazi earned a bronze medal in the minus 81-kilogram class.
The World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) World Championship 2016 started in Andria, Italy, on November 7, and concluded on November 12.
The tournament saw the participation of tens of kickboxers from different countries, including Austria, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Germany, Iran, Ireland, Lebanon, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Uruguay, and the United States.
Argentina's national kickboxing team finished vice champion, while the French outfit stood on the bronze podium.
