Iran's Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, the national committee of Museums (Iran's ICOM), dedicated its Melody of Peace award to President Rouhani. President Rouhani received the award during his 31st Provincial visit to the city of Qazvin where the secretariat of Melody of Peace is located.

ICOM's Melody of Peace as the symbol of Iranians' peace loving disposition will also be presented to the secretary-General of the United Nations.

Melody of Peace Project is a project in two national and international phases. Here is more general information about this project.

Land of Persia, Iran, has always been a historical center for ancient civilizations. According to the rich musical culture of this land, the historical harp of Elam civilization (Narsina), engraved on Kūl Farah epigraphs, has been titled as “ICOM-Iran’s Melody of Peace”.

People call Earth, “the mother”. Mother is the symbol of birth, kindness and breeding and in her arms is where any person may have the chance to taste “peace” in the first place; therefore, a mothers’ lullaby could be known as “the most expressive melody of peace” which everybody, regardless of any cultural and ethnic diversities, may bear in the mind. That is why “mother’s lullaby” has been chosen as the core concept by the secretariat of the project, as a call for peace to the people of any countries with any cultures and languages.

Kul-e Farah site in Izeh (Iran) is an ancient heritage of humankind that reminds us of the importance of music over the past millenniums. As stone carved in this site, the historical harp of NARSIA, a heritage of Elam civilization and Iranian history, has been re-developed after thousands of years through a series of studies and researches and has been employed in ICOM-Iran's Melody of Peace album as a Peace Symbol to serve posterity with an inception in the world’s ancient musical language.
