AIC Partners with Educational Non-Profit ProjectExplorer.org to Create Film Series in Iran

Announcement by American Iranian Council

Dear AIC Community,

I am excited to announce that AIC is partnering with the award-winning educational non-profit, ProjectExplorer.org, to send a small film crew to Iran in Spring 2018 to produce a series of short, high-quality, educational videos about everyday life in Iran.

Having first traveled to Iran when I was 16 years old, I know first-hand how intercultural understanding gained early in life can have a huge impact years later.  Now, as Director of Operations at AIC, I want to share the experience I had with today's youth.  While we can't transport millions of American students abroad, we can bring Iran to them.

The videos we produce as a result of this partnership with ProjectExplorer.org will be distributed free of charge to classrooms and educators in the US and around the world so that students can learn about Iran as part of their standard curriculum.  ProjectExplorer.org content currently reaches over 6 million students (ages 8-18) annually.  Additionally, we plan to share the Iran Series widely on social media and with a major television broadcast partner that has millions of viewers.

More information about this project can be found below.  I firmly believe that this project will help educate the next generation of global citizens and lay the foundation for a more peaceful future.  If you support this cause, please make a tax-deductible donation on our website or a financial pledge to donate upon the final issuance of visas by contacting me directly at stephanie@us-iran.org.

Thank you in advance for your support of this important project.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Lester
AIC Director of Operations

Interested in learning more? Watch this video about the organization or visit their website for more information.

About AIC: The AIC is a 501(c) (3) tax-deductible organization headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey. The Council pioneered the push for normalization of relations between the United States and Iran over two decades ago. The Council’s achievements remain unsurpassed. To cite just one example, Secretary Madeleine Albright delivered her historic speech on Iran at an AIC event, when she expressed regret about past US policy mistakes (including the 1953 coup), lifted sanctions on carpets and food items, and offered Iran a global settlement. Years later, Iran's President Mohammad Khatami would characterize this event as a "missed opportunity."
