We are pleased to announce the return of the IAAB Conference in 2018! In partnership with the Hagop Kevorkian Center at New York University, IAAB's International Conference on the Iranian Diaspora will be held April 21-22, 2018 at New York University School of Law.

The IAAB Conference is an innovative forum for academics, journalists, artists, and community leaders to discuss the development, challenges, and needs of our global community. The first and biggest program of its kind, presenters join IAAB from the Middle East, Europe, Australia, Asia, and North America, bringing a truly global perspective to these important conversations.

In 2003, student leaders at Wellesley College and Tufts University hosted the first International Conference on the Iranian Diaspora, a groundbreaking program that sparked the creation of IAAB and dozens of other new initiatives and projects. The IAAB Conference is a space to share knowledge, form connections, and develop ideas into action. Speakers share about a range of topics from cutting-edge research to community programs, with a focus on the most relevant issues affecting the Iranian diaspora.

Thanks to IAAB's current legal challenge against the US Travel Ban, IAAB v Trump, speakers from outside the United States are eligible to travel to New York for the IAAB Conference. 'IAAB v Trump''s current victory blocking the ban in October ensures that the IAAB Conference continues to be a transnational space. IAAB's legal challenge is ongoing and changes may possibly arise as the legal battle continues.
