This year we mark the 20th anniversary of PKCF, an important milestone made possible by your sustained and generous support over the years. When we founded PKCF we did not imagine that the PKCF family would grow to encompass thousands of supporters and volunteers across the globe, and yet here we are twenty years later with a clear mission and dedicated supporters that have allowed us to execute on our ideals. We would like to take a moment to reflect on our achievements and outline our vision for the years to come.
Your funds have enabled us to construct schools and orphanages, supply essential medical equipment, refurbish hospital wards, facilitate the medical treatment of over 500 sick children, build and maintain centres for the disabled, sponsor NGO projects for refugee street and working children, construct over 50 homes for families affected by devastating earthquakes, and much more.
Going forward, we have resolved to concentrate our efforts towards ensuring that the projects that we have initiated over the past twenty years receive the funding they require to maintain their operations and continue with their invaluable work. Bachehaye Ma, an orphanage in Kerman, is one of those projects, and one that we would like to highlight for good reason:
The Story of Arezoo
We would like to share with you the story of Arezoo, one of the Bachehaye Ma children. Arezoo joined Bachehaye Ma at the age of 9, she is now 23 years old and a law graduate of the University of Mazandaran. She lost both parents at the age of 7 and was reunited with her brother at Bachehaye Ma at the age of 9 as Bachehaye Ma does all that it can to keep siblings united. While she struggled in her first year, she exceled in her second year and managed to stay at the top of her class until graduation, after which she went to law school. She was able to achieve her potential through the care, attention and support of the nurturing Bachehaye Ma staff who have created a true family for her and countless other children. We are so proud of Arezoo and all of the children who are doing their very best to beat the odds so heavily stacked against them. They deserve our support and we are determined to fund them every step of the way.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to you, our supporters, for
enabling children like Arezoo to not only survive but also to thrive. It
is only with your commitment that we can continue the foundation's invaluable
About: The Popli Khalatbari Charitable Foundation was launched in 1998 by the family and friends of the late Popli Khalatbari, who wished to honour her memory by distributing the funds from her estate in a manner befitting of the spirit with which she had led her life.
Over the years, with the generosity and encouragement of friends and strangers, PKCF has grown from a small gesture of goodwill to a giant force of compassion and optimism that has made an impact across the world.
The Foundation is grateful to all those who have played a part in its work and salutes them for keeping Popli's spirit alive.
