The 2018 Asian Games' winners, dominated the match from the beginning and showed class from the 1st point, to finish the 1st set 25-19. It was another explosive start for the Asian powerhouse in the 2nd set, as they easily won 25-14, despite mostly playing with their back-ups, after the 2nd technical break. Team Iran kept the momentum in the 3rd and took it 25-18. Iran will have a mouthwatering clash with co-hosts Bulgaria on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Brazil opened their campaign with a 3-nil victory over Egypt in a
Pool-B-match in Bulgaria.
Brazil were given a surprisingly tough test by Egypt but managed to seal a winning start, beating their opponents 25-17, 25-22, and 25-20. Brazil have won 3 consecutive FIVB titles between 2002 and 2010, and finished as runners-up after losing to Poland in the final in 2014. The 2016 Olympic champions next face France, while Egypt will seek a 1st win of the tournament against Canada, with China and The Netherlands completing the group.
In another Pool B match, France defeated China in straight sets. Les Blues managed to finish the 1st set 25-20. The 2015 European Champions, played really well, attacking during the 2nd, and didn't have much problem taking the set 25-21. In the 3rd, France played like a real volleyball machine as they won the set 25-17. France will meet Brazil in the next match-up at the preliminary stage.
Elsewhere, Canada have overcome the Netherlands in straight-sets in the Pool B opener. Canada started the 1st set strong, taking it 25-15. The Dutchmen fought back in the 2nd, but Stephane Atiga's team used a serve mistake by the Netherlands and won it 25-23. Canada piled-up the pressure and won the 3rd 25-18. They will meet Egypt in their 2nd group match on Thursday.
And in Pool C, the US have come from 2-1 down to seal a victory against Serbia in Bari, Italy. Serbia shocked team USA in the opening set with a 25-15 win and then took a 2-1 lead by taking the 3rd set. The Americans however, rallied to gain a hard-fought victory in their opening match.
